Dr Kishore Chandiramani, a Consultant Psychiatrist, has more than 30 years’ experience in the field, including 15 years in academic psychiatry. He works as a Consultant Psychiatrist for the Care Quality Commission and the Ministry of Justice in England.
He was awarded Gaskell Gold Medal and Prize for Clinical Excellence by the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2002 and a distinction in the postgraduate diploma in Psychosexual Therapy by the University of Central Lancashire, England in 2008. After completing his higher specialist training in psychiatry he has sought further training and experience in the fields of anxiety and panic disorders, alcohol and drug misuse, postnatal depression, relationship counselling, existential psychotherapy, mindfulness meditation, health management, old age psychiatry, biofeedback therapy and legal aspects of psychiatry.
Dr Chandiramani has received several awards for his publications and presentations in scientific meetings. He has published numerous articles in national and international journals and delivered guest lectures on mindfulness meditation in international conferences. He has recently published a book “Emotions and Stress: How to Manage Them”
Dr Chandiramani uses a number of different therapy approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy, relationship counselling, biofeedback therapy (computer assisted stress management), existential psychotherapy and mindfulness meditation.
He has developed a six session Stress Management Programme which integrates elements of spiritual practices with scientific approaches such as psychodynamic therapy, relaxation exercises and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
