Mr Yazan Masannat is an award-winning Consultant Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon consulting at LycaHealth Canary Wharf, London. He specialises in the assessment of breast symptoms, breast cancer surgery, breast conservation and reconstruction, providing personalised care tailored to each patient’s needs.

At LycaHealth’s one-stop breast clinic, he assesses patients with breast lumps, breast pain, nipple discharge, nipple or skin changes, and lumps in the armpit. Assessment combines specialist consultation and examination with appropriate breast imaging and further investigations where needed. His approach emphasises clear explanations, sensitive communication and helping patients make informed decisions about their care.

Mr Masannat has particular expertise in oncoplastic breast surgery, which combines cancer removal with techniques to preserve or restore breast shape. His practice includes therapeutic mammoplasty and chest wall perforator flaps, helping suitable patients retain their breast when clinically appropriate. He also specialises in mastectomy, implant-based reconstruction, lymph node surgery, and procedures to improve breast symmetry and appearance after cancer treatment. Where appropriate, he works with plastic surgery colleagues to offer reconstruction using a patient’s own tissue.

Alongside his private practice, he is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at Broomfield Hospital, Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. He is a Visiting Associate Professor at Anglia Ruskin University. Mr Masannat has authored 100+ peer-reviewed publications and contributes to breast surgery research, surgical innovation and education. He serves as Meetings Secretary and Trustee of the Association of Breast Surgery.

He is also the founder of www.iBreastBook.com, a free international educational resource bringing together breast and plastic surgeons to share knowledge and improve surgical practice. He regularly lectures and teaches internationally on oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery.
