Dr. Chatu is a highly experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist with extensive expertise in gastroenterology, hepatology, and general internal medicine. He is known for his calm, patient-centred approach, clear and thoughtful communication, and strong diagnostic skills.
He currently practices at King’s College Hospital and serves as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at King’s College London, demonstrating his dedication to advancing clinical practice and medical education.
Dr. Chatu completed his medical training at the prestigious St Bartholomew’s and Royal London Medical School, graduating with multiple distinctions. He went on to undertake specialist training in gastroenterology and general internal medicine at several leading London hospitals through the London Deanery. To broaden his clinical experience, he spent a year practising in Brisbane, Australia, before pursuing full-time research that led to the award of an MD from the University of London.
He has published extensively in high-impact, peer-reviewed medical journals and is the author of the respected textbook Hands-on Guide to Clinical Pharmacology. His contributions to gastrointestinal cancer care have been recognised nationally, including an invitation to present at the Houses of Parliament. His research has been supported by a Medical Research Council grant.
Dr. Chatu is a member of several leading professional organisations, including the British Society of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the Royal College of Physicians, and the British Medical Association.
With dual accreditation in general medicine and advanced life support, he delivers truly holistic, patient-centred care. He carefully tailors each diagnostic and treatment plan to the individual, with particular expertise in managing complex or long-standing gastrointestinal conditions.
