Mr Paul Kirkland is a highly experienced Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgeon practising in Kent and East Sussex, with more than 20 years’ experience at consultant level. He previously served as an ENT Consultant at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust until 2025 and he now sees private patients at KIMS Hospital Maidstone, The Royal Tunbridge Wells Clinic, Sevenoaks Medical Centre, and LycaHealth Orpington and Canary Wharf.
After graduating from St Thomas’ Hospital Medical School, London, in 1989, Mr Kirkland completed specialist ENT training in London and the South Thames region. He later undertook advanced training in head and neck surgery at the Royal Marsden Hospital, as well as thyroid and parathyroid surgery at Hammersmith and Charing Cross Hospitals. He was also awarded a Fellowship by the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery following training in Amsterdam and Stuttgart.
Mr Kirkland has a particular interest in minimally invasive and endoscopic techniques, including Balloon Sinuplasty and Eustachian Tube Balloon Dilation, helping to support faster recovery and reduced hospital stays.
In 2018, he received a national award from the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists for pioneering the UK’s first One-Stop Swallow Disorder Clinic. Alongside his clinical work, he remains actively involved in ENT and endocrine surgery research, with numerous publications in the medical literature.
