Dr Fabio Castiglione is a widely experienced consultant urologist andrologist practising at King’s college hospital, at Guy’s and St Thomas and at private clinics in London. His specialities include andrology, regenerative medicine, men’s sexual dysfunction, shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction, and chronic prostatitis. Dr Castiglione currently is practising at four private clinics, one of which is for Spanish speakers.
In 2009, Dr Castiglione received his qualification in medicine and surgery. He later completed his speciality training in urology at Vita Salute San Raffaele University of Milan. He has since become a fellow of both the European Committee of Sexual Medicine and the European Board of Urology. Whilst in Belgium, Dr Castiglione earned his PhD studying stem cells and erectile dysfunction. To further his experience, he travelled to India and undertook a senior fellowship at the Institute of Urethral Surgery in Pune, where he learned the most advanced surgical techniques in treating urethral stenosis.
Dr Castiglione relocated to the UK, finalising his specialty fellowship training in andrology and ultimately becoming a consultant in UCLH. During his years training and time a consultant, Dr Castiglione has had more than 100 peer-reviewed papers published and is an associate professor at University College London. Additionally, he has presented at many conferences and meetings nationally and internationally on his specialised topics.
Presently, Dr Castiglione is an avid researcher, conducting research on focuses such as reconstructive urology, post-prostatectomy erectile dysfunction and penile rehabilitation strategies, and stem cell therapy, including Adipose Tissue-Derived Stem Cells (ADSC), adult stem cells, mechanisms of action stem cells, and platelet rich plasma. Dr Castiglion was appointed as Prostate Cancer UK Champion. He has a goal to develop new clinical pathways and deliver significant improvements when it comes to sexual dysfunction for patients who have undergone prostate cancer treatments.
