What is Orthopaedics?

Orthopaedics is a medical field that involves the management, correction and treatment of the musculoskeletal system – the system that provides support, movement, form and stability to the body. It is made up of the muscles, bones, ligaments, joints, cartilage, tendons and other connective tissue. Often, the musculoskeletal system can become damaged through reasons such as sporting injuries, accidents, posture problems, repetitive movements and age, which can cause the individual a lot of pain.

Chronic musculoskeletal pain can interfere with daily activities, restrict movement and disrupt sleep. It is likely that all of us will suffer from some sort of joint, bone or muscle pain in our lifetime. When we do, the most important thing is to quickly treat the condition and prevent it from taking over our lives.

Our Orthopaedic specialists can help to identify the source of your pain or discomfort, and help to relieve and manage the pain as quickly as possible. They will undertake a physical examination, an x-ray, a private MRI scan or individual tests, to provide you with a diagnosis, followed by a bespoke treatment plan. At our facility, we can offer you top quality care and support right from the moment when you walk through our doors, right through to treatment and rehabilitation.

Some of the most common orthopaedic issues that we can treat include:
