Bank Nurse

We are based in Canary Wharf, London and we are looking to expand our current service by growing the Clinical Nursing staff.

As a nurse, no two days are the same. You’ll be working with different specialist, and interacting with a wide variety of patients and clinicians, utilising the full range of your nursing skills to deliver high quality care to patients. As part of the nursing team, you will be expected to work in all areas of the service to support and delivery outstanding patient care. We are looking for someone who is flexible, adaptable and dependable and at the same time build and maintain positive working

Scope of the role Band 5 Nurse

  • To provide high quality nursing care to adult and children patients and families.
  • To act as a role model and expert clinical practitioner
  • To act as facilitator, help and support to visiting Consultants and other Clinicians and Practitioners
  • To assist in the safe, elective and efficient management of the department within allocated resources
  • To promote a progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patientcare through research and evidence-based practice
  • To undertake delegated responsibility for the department in the absence of the Senior Nurse
  • To Act as Patient’s support and help and also as the patient’s advocate

Core Responsibilities:

  • To be a clinical expert within the specialty.
  • To ensure the provision of excellent, evidence-based nursing care for patients at all times.
  • Ensure the provision of a welcoming, caring, clean and safe environment for Patients.
  • Ensure quality care is given, by being familiar with agreed standards of care and to inform seniors, if there required standard cannot be reached.
  • To ensure compliance with the Health and Social Care Act regulations 2010 by adhering to the Care Quality Commission standards at all times.
  • To ensure that all patient care is documented and that all relevant documentation is completed accurately and within agreed timescales using approved documentation, inline with NMC, CQC and LycaHealth standards.
  • To demonstrate a professional approach to work and act in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct at all times.
  • Manage allocated resources effectively and efficiently
  • To act as an advocate for patients ensuring the provision of appropriate information and support services.
  • To communicate complex and sensitive information effectively to patients, carers and other staff, overcoming any barriers to understanding and providing support during distressing or emotional events.
  • To develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledge necessary to provide holistic, evidence-based nursing care. This includes expanded role responsibilities, following appropriate training.
