Mr Mark Jeffery is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at University Hospital Lewisham, London where he is a specialist in shoulder and upper limb surgery. He is appointed the educational lead responsible for the training of surgery for the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS trust, London. He is also a Royal College of Surgeons College Tutor.
After qualifying from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, London, he completed his surgical training in London and was privileged to undertake his specialist orthopaedic training at the renowned The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, which included other teaching hospitals, The Royal London and The Royal Free Hospital.
Mr Jeffery was awarded a specialist fellowship in complex reconstructive surgery and in advanced arthroscopic techniques at the Epsom shoulder unit in Surrey. He was also awarded a trauma Fellowship at The Royal London, trauma unit.
He provides expert treatment, both surgical and non-surgical, of all conditions of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. In particular, he specialises in arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery, joint replacement surgery and sport injuries.
A certified rugby coach and keen tennis player he is a sports injury specialist, treating rugby, golf, tennis and athletic related shoulder and upper limb injuries.
