Mr Abdul Kasem

Mr. Abdul Kasem is a highly qualified oncoplastic, reconstructive, and cosmetic breast surgeon with a special interest in breast health, including breast lumps, nipple discharge, breast cancer, reconstruction, augmentation, and reduction.

He has specialist expertise in one-stop rapid assessment of breast lumps and other breast symptoms, breast screening, family history risk evaluation, and advanced management of both benign breast conditions and breast cancer. Mr. Kasem works as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic, personalised care.

Mr. Kasem completed his specialist training within the Oncoplastic Breast Unit at the Princess Royal University Hospital. He further enhanced his expertise through an 18-month part-time secondment with the oncoplastic breast surgery team at the Royal Marsden Hospital. He has also been actively involved with the South-East London Breast Cancer Screening Programme at King’s College Hospital and the oncoplastic breast surgery team at St Thomas’ Hospital, providing care for breast cancer patients.

To refine his surgical skills, Mr. Kasem has attended numerous international masterclasses and workshops in breast care and surgery.

Mr. Kasem regularly delivers educational courses for GPs on the management of breast symptoms. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles on topics including skin-sparing mastectomies and lipofilling, and serves on the Editorial Board of the Annals of Breast Cancer journal in the USA.

In recognition of his dedication to patient care, Mr. Kasem has received 12 WOW! Awards for Outstanding Patient Experience and was nominated by breast cancer patients for the Pride in Medway Award in 2013.

His breast oncoplastic and cosmetic breast skills include primary breast cancer surgery, breast reconstruction surgery, breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast mastopexy (uplift), breast lipomodelling and lipofilling with fat grafting, immediate and delayed breast reconstruction and nipple reconstruction.

Mr Kasem is one of the first certified cosmetic surgeons by the Royal College of Surgeons of England in the United Kingdom.
