Our specialist team will walk you through your patient journey with LycaHealth, explaining the types of scans appropriate to you, what each scan will be identifying and the next stages to results. Please note: If you are paying for your own treatment (self-funding), you do not need a GP referral to access our one-stop breast clinics. If you have private medical insurance, we advise you to contact your provider to confirm whether they require you to have a referral letter, before booking your appointment.
If you are self funding your treatment then you do not need to get a GP referral to access our breast clinic. Simply request an appointment by completing our enquiry form, or alternatively call 01689 490 111 and a member of our team will be able to assist you.
If you have private medical insurance, we advise you contact your provider before booking to confirm whether you need a referral letter from your GP before booking an appointment at our Breast Clinic.
You will be informed by our team of any precautions to take before having any of the scans; breast MRI scan, breast ultrasound or a mammogram.

No this will not always be the case. At LycaHealth Orpington, these are the ones we have available to help guide us to a full diagnose and treatment pathway. It will all depend on the results, in some cases we might need to have all scans to provide a clear result or in other cases results might be clear from only having one scan.

We have both female and male professional consultants that specialise in Breast Care at LycaHealth Orpington. If you have a preference of your consultant for your consultation please inform us at the point of booking.
We will offer a chaperone service for all your appointments if that again is something you feel would make your journey more comfortable, please let us know.
