What is a Bladder and Urology Health Check?

This comprehensive health check focuses on maintaining the health of your urinary system. It is designed to identify and address common concerns such as urinary incontinence, recurrent infections, or discomfort, giving you confidence in managing your health.

This health check is suitable for women who:

  • Experience urinary symptoms such as urgency, frequency, or leakage
  • Have had recurrent urinary tract infections (two or more in six months, or three or more in a year)
  • Have noticed blood in their urine (visible or non-visible, not linked to a confirmed UTI)
  • Want reassurance about their urinary and bladder health

What to Expect?

  1. Initial GP consultation to discuss your health, medical history, and any concerns
  2. Renal tract ultrasound (KUB scan) to examine your kidneys, ureters, and bladder
  3. Urine tests including microscopy, culture, and sensitivity to detect infection or other abnormalities
  4. Follow-up consultation (virtual) with a GP to review results and provide personalised recommendations

What Happens After My Health Check?

If any issues are detected, such as blood in the urine or recurrent urinary tract infections, you may be referred to one of our specialist urology consultants for further investigation and care.
