Dr Sunil Gupta is a Consultant haematologist and haem-oncologist based at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS trust.
Dr. Gupta brings over 21 years of experience in clinical and laboratory haematology, having trained at some of the world’s leading institutions, including King’s College Hospital London, Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, National University Hospital (NUH) Singapore, and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, India. He completed his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) through the London Deanery at King’s College Hospital. His clinical research has included work on anthracycline toxicity in children with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
Dr. Gupta has been practising as a Consultant Haematologist since 2011. While his primary focus is haematology-oncology, he also has a strong interest in clotting disorders and anaemias. He has led haematology research and development at both East Sussex Healthcare and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, where he initiated several new clinical trials in haemato-oncology. In addition, he served as tutor for SAS doctors at East Sussex Healthcare. His dedication to teaching and training has earned him the title of Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer from Brighton and Sussex Medical School.
Dr. Gupta provides comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for a wide range of blood disorders, including clotting and bleeding disorders as well as anaemias. He also offers inpatient and outpatient chemotherapy for conditions such as multiple myeloma, lymphomas, chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, and chronic myeloid leukaemia, along with day case and inpatient services for blood transfusion and iron infusion. He currently offers consultations at all major private hospitals in and around Bromley and Orpington and is recognised by all major health insurance providers.
Dr Gupta is a member of the British Society of Haematology, European Haematology Association, Medical Protection Society and the American Society of Haematology.
He has been attached with various charitable organizations in the UK and in India. He was presented the prestigious “The Glory of India” award for his various academic and social contributions.
Dr Gupta is a keen sports enthusiast and fitness freak. He is an accredited Yoga teacher and holds weekly classes in Bromley. His wife, Dr Meenal Gupta is a well-known histo-pathologist, and they are blessed with two lovely daughters.
