Consultant Orthopaedic Hip & Knee Surgeon
Miss Samantha Tross is a Consultant Orthopaedic Hip & Knee Surgeon, practicing in London since 2005. She qualified from University College & Middlesex School of Medicine and undertook her surgical training in London on the Royal London and Guys & St. Thomas’s rotations. Prior to taking up her Consultant post, she undertook a Fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Hip and Knee Surgery and Knee Arthroscopy in Toronto, Canada and Sydney, Australia. She is one of 7% of female orthopaedic surgeons in the UK and was the first woman in Europe to perform Mako Robotic Hip Surgery. She is one of a few surgeons currently being profiled in the Huntley Museum of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Miss Tross is a national and International Speaker in Orthopaedics and has published in numerous Journals. She is a DEI Champion for Surgery, working with the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the British Hip Society and the International Orthopaedic Diversity Alliance. She is a Founder Member of the British Association of Black Surgeons.
Miss Tross is also an Associate Professor of Orthopaedics for the American University of the Caribbean and External Examiner for the University of the West Indies in Trinidad & Tobago. She is a previous examiner for Imperial College London Surgical Finals and past Associate Editor of the Journal of Medical Case Reports. She has received numerous Awards for her work and has been included in the Black Powerlist of 100 most influential Black Britons since 2012.
In her youth Ms. Tross was Victrix Ludorum for the Independent School Championships and was National Champion in the Long jump. in her spare time, she enjoys travel, fine dining and dancing.
