Mr Howard Cottam is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. He studied medicine at King’s College London and completed his surgical training across the South-East of England. He undertook Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship training at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre in Bristol, followed by a Hand and Wrist Fellowship at King’s College Hospital.
He offers expert diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of upper limb conditions, including shoulder arthritis, dislocations, tendon injuries such as rotator cuff tears, frozen shoulder, tennis and golfer’s elbow, nerve entrapment around the elbow, wrist arthritis, ligament injuries, ganglions, tendon inflammation, carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger and thumb, Dupuytren’s contracture, and arthritis of the small joints of the hand.
Mr Cottam has a particular interest in arthroscopy (keyhole surgery) of the shoulder, elbow and wrist. He also performs joint replacement surgery for upper limb arthritis and surgical repair for fractures and injuries of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand.
