Consultant Gastroenterologist

Dr Mayur Kumar is a highly skilled Consultant Gastroenterologist with a specialist focus on pancreatic, biliary, liver, and oesophageal conditions, as well as inflammatory bowel disease and advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
Dr Kumar completed his specialist training in internal medicine and gastroenterology across London and the South East of England, receiving his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2013. He is fully accredited by the Joint Advisory Group (JAG) for procedures including OGD (gastroscopy), colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and ERCP, and is an approved endoscopist for the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.
He undertook advanced training in endoscopy and ERCP at University College London and has delivered research presentations at both national and international gastroenterology conferences. His academic work has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, and his ongoing research interests include pancreato-biliary disorders and innovations in endoscopic techniques.
Dr Kumar is an active member of several professional bodies, including the British Society of Gastroenterology, the Royal College of Physicians (London), and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. In addition to his clinical work, he is committed to education and regularly trains junior doctors and specialist gastroenterology trainees.
His areas of expertise include pancreaticobiliary medicine, IBD, liver disease, GI cancers, functional bowel disorders, and coeliac disease. He takes a patient-centred approach and works closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standard of care.
