Dr Chatu is an experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist with a comprehensive background in gastroenterology, hepatology and general internal medicine. He brings a calm, patient-first approach to care and is known for his clear, thoughtful communication and diagnostic expertise.
He currently practices at King’s College Hospital and holds an academic position as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at King’s College London, reflecting his commitment to advancing clinical knowledge and medical education.
Dr Chatu trained at the prestigious St Bartholomew’s and Royal London Medical School, graduating with multiple distinctions. His specialist training in gastroenterology and general medicine was completed across leading London hospitals through the London Deanery. He further broadened his clinical perspective with a year of practice in Brisbane, Australia, before undertaking full-time research leading to an MD from the University of London.
He has published widely in high-impact, peer-reviewed medical journals and is the author of a well-regarded textbook, Hands-on Guide to Clinical Pharmacology. His contributions to gastrointestinal cancer care have been recognised at a national level, including a presentation at the Houses of Parliament. His research was supported by a Medical Research Council grant.
Dr Chatu holds membership with key professional bodies including the British Society of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, Royal College of Physicians, and British Medical Association.
With dual accreditation in general medicine and advanced life support, Dr Chatu offers a truly holistic approach to care. He tailors every diagnostic and treatment plan to each patient’s specific needs and is especially skilled in supporting those with complex or longstanding gastrointestinal symptoms.
