Dr Maxwell Asante consults in all areas of general gastroenterology. He has a special interest in the evaluation, diagnosis and management of acid related disorders; alteration in bowel function eg irritable bowel syndrome and colitis; food related disorders and cancer diagnosis. He offers diagnostic/therapeutic endoscopy, including wireless endoscopy, balloon enteroscopy and ERCP. He completed his undergraduate medical studies in 1987 and holds membership of the following professional bodies: British Medical Association; British Society of Gastroenterology; Medical Protection Society and the Royal College of Physicians, London. He is heavily involved in research and, as such, is widely published in aspects of gastroenterology.

Dr Maxwell Asante works at the following clinics
• Inflammatory bowel diseases eg Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s disease
• Functional gastro-intestinal disorders (e.g. IBS)
• Disorders of gastro-intestinal motility eg Gastroparesis, POTs and SIBO
• Therapeutic endoscopy (including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, balloon enteroscopy)
• Complex benign gastro-intestinal disorders
Please note that we are unable to see patients under the age of 18, except for MRI scans, which have a minimum age of 8.
