Mr Tan Arulampalam was awarded his medical degree from the University of London, and completed his higher surgical training in four locations across the UK. Following this, Mr Arulampalam was awarded a fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons, and continued his research in UCL to receive his higher degree. He is also an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Essex.

Aside from his academic prowess, Mr Arulampalam specialises in several aspects of surgery including laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy, open surgery, colorectal surgery, hernia surgery and gallbladder surgery.
