Dr. Abbi Lulsegged is a experienced Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist practicing in central London and southern England. He completed his medical training at Guy’s Hospital Medical School in 1994 and subsequently pursued specialist diabetes and endocrinology training at prestigious institutions like The Royal Free Hospital, University College Hospital, and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital.
Dr. Lulsegged has a special interest in treating unexplained medical conditions, obesity, fatigue, menopause, hormonal dysfunction, long COVID, and mast cell activation disorders.
He takes a holistic, patient-centered approach aimed at identifying and addressing the root causes of his patients’ conditions. Dr. Lulsegged has an interest in functional medicine and has undertaken training in the USA. This has helped him integrate his passion for Endocrinology/Diabetes and General Medicine with functional medicine in trying to address the root cause of problems.
In addition to general endocrinology, he has expertise in areas like polycystic ovarian syndrome, osteoporosis, hormone imbalances, thyroid disorders, adrenal diseases, electrolyte imbalances, and pituitary diseases.
Over his distinguished career, Dr. Lulsegged has made significant contributions to patient care, education, and medical guidelines. He established the endocrine service at Princess Royal University Hospital and developed vitamin D deficiency management guidelines serving over 1 million people. He is passionate about teaching and has delivered lectures, grand rounds, GP talks, and examination questions for the Royal College of Physicians.
Dr. Lulsegged’s outstanding work has been recognized with clinical excellence awards and his appointment as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2012. He has presented at the Houses of Parliament on reversing type 2 diabetes, appeared on high-rating BBC programs about diabetes, and been quoted by national press. His dedication to patient care and medical education has made him a highly respected figure in his field.
