Paul Sidhu is a consultant radiologist at King’s College Hospital. He qualified in 1982 from what was then St Mary’s Hospital Medical School, which is now part of Imperial College. He held senior house officer positions at the Brompton Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital, Hospital for Tropical Diseases and Guy’s Hospital. He also worked at Guy’s Hospital as a medical registrar before spending a year as a lecturer in Kuala Lumpur at the University of Malaya. When he returned to the UK, he trained as a radiologist at Hammersmith Hospital and King’s College Hospital, becoming a consultant in 1996 with a role in ultrasound and interventional radiology.
Paul Sidhu has also been Professor of imaging services at King’s College London since 2012. He pioneered the introduction of contrast-enhanced ultrasound in the UK and has been published extensively on subjects concerning vascular interventional radiology and medical ultrasound. He is currently President of the British Medical Ultrasound Society and the President of the Section of Radiology of the Royal Society of Medicine.
