Paul Chatrath completed his preclinical medical degree at the University of Cambridge and subsequent clinical training at The Royal London Hospital Medical College, London, obtaining his MBBS degree with distinctions in three subjects and Proxime Accessit to the University of London Gold Medal.
He undertook basic surgical training in Cambridge and higher surgical training in Otolaryngology (ENT Surgery) in North London, culminating in passing the final FRCS (ORL-HNS) Intercollegiate examination and the award of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in ENT.
During his training, Paul undertook a period of formal research which investigated the role of surface brushings of the larynx in discriminating between cancerous areas and benign (harmless) lesions. This led to the award of an MD higher research degree with the University Of London.
Paul now holds a substantive NHS post as Consultant ENT Surgeon/Rhinologist at Charing Cross Hospital (Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust), London. He has also been appointed as Honorary Senior Lecturer, Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford (July 2012).
