Anoop Saraf



Dr. Anoop Saraf completed his initial psychiatric training at the Charing Cross psychiatric training scheme in Northwest London. He went on to complete his higher specialist Psychiatric training at the South London and Maudsley training scheme in South London, and obtained membership of the Royal College of Psychaitrists in 2009.

In 2013 Dr Saraf received an MMedSc with Merit in Psychiatry from the University of Leeds. He has been working as a consultant old age psychiatrist in Kent and Medway partnership NHS trust since 2014. He is also the recruitment lead for psychiatric trainees for the South East of England and has been in the post, having been appointed by the Royal college of Psychiatrists, since 2016. Dr Saraf is also the tutor for Medway, Kent and is actively involved in teaching trainees for the membership exams for the RCPsych. He is a honorary lecturer at Canterbury Christchurch University, Kent.

Additionally, Dr Saraf teaches nurses, medical students and nursing students as part of his interest in teaching and training. He is currently undergoing a Masters in Leadership at the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Academy in Leeds. As the consultant lead in Medway for the Dementia Action Alliance, Dr Saraf works closely with the Alzheimer’s society. Home care for the elderly, Age UK, Medway community health, Telecare teams in Medway and CCG in Medway. He is accredited as a Memory service national accreditation programme [MSNAP] consultant by the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and has published in peer reviewed Psychiatric journals.
